Kettlebell Training

KETTLEBELL TRAINING

The next exercise to try after the swing is an extension of it, the kettlebell snatch.

Instead of swinging the kettlebell upto eye level, the kettlebell is driven overhead and caught above the shoulder with your hand pointing directly in front of you with the KB behind your hand.
Make sure you dip slightly at the top of lift and squeeze the KB tightly to slow it down as you need to be careful not to let it hit you on the forearm. You may experience some bruising until you get the technique down. But down let this worry you, spend plenty of time feeling the movement until you can perform the snatch with balance, precision and control.

The routine from my swing routine can be used with the kettlebell snatch too. Alternate sets between the 2 exercises. These 2 exercises are the core of kettlebell training. We'll soon be moving onto more advanced routines involving combo's for power, speed and endurance. All of which will transfer to some degree in your chosen sport.
