Hand strength (or call it grip strength or lower arm strength if you wish) is essential for lifting big weights in the gym.
If your hands are strong you'll hang onto that big deadlift or that person you want to catch on the Rugby field, climb up that rope or beat someone at 'Peanuts' or most importantly keep hold of your wife who just slipped off the roof of your house!!
Either way having strong hands is better than having 'piss poor' hand strength
There are many ways of developing grip strength, one of mine is through using kettlebells. I soon realised that kettlebell training is great for hand strength and is often achieved without directly intending to do so.
However, sometimes it's necessary to work on different elements of hand strength specifically, so I put together a video to show you some of the drills I do.
It's by no means definitive, so I have put together a page along with some links to other videos of stuff that isn't on my video.
If you have any more ideas and/or videos of kettlebell drills that assist hand strength I'd be happy to add them to the page (just drop me a comment)
