Tower of Terror with 48kg/106lb Beast Kettlebell
Went up to the field this afternoon to have a crack at the 'Tower of Terror'
The first and only time I have ever seen this kettlebell feat is by John Brookfield, grip legend. Hence my inspiration to tackle this today!
I have exchanged a few emails with John over the last week after he contacted me when I left a comment on his Tower of Terror video.
What a really top bloke he is too! I asked John about his Secret Service Snatch Test and he confirmed what I thought
John Brookfield's recipe for success is simple. Hard work and determination and the want to achieve what you have set out to do. John has done 302 reps with the 24kg bell in 10 mins on 2 seperate occasions. He originally set out to do 272 reps to beat the record but wanted 300, so he trained until he did it.
Any way here's my video.
I spent quite a while warming up with 24kg swings (not to mention a 1/4 mile walk with a 24 and 48 to get to the field) and some Towers of Terror with the light bell.
Then some beast snatches and flips. I must have taken about 20 goes before I was succesful.
It is the hardest kettlebell feat I have done yet I feel. John's 20 odd reps is outstanding.
My next aim is 5 reps then 10.
Ok it's time for tea. I think it's gonna be Smoked Grip tonight!!
