Training update!
It's been a while now since I felt like I may only turn up in a rerun of one my own kettlebell videos, after a biglay off from any form of routine training sessions!
I hoped to at least get training before Christmas, but have recently started some home garage sessions. I've done 2 training sessions so far this week working on 32kg kettlebell swings, 48kg kettlebell cleans 48kg jerks. 32kg double handed swings and 40kg kettlebell ladder snatches, topped of with grip training.
I'll be really emphasising grip training over the next couple of months for a competition that David Horne is running - Britain’s Strongest Hands 2011 details are as follows.
Britain’s Strongest Hands 2011
Leg 1 - Saturday 12 March, 2011
Leg 2 - Saturday 9 April, 2011
Leg 1 Events:
1. One Hand Vulcan Gripper - 20mm block close
2. Two Hands Pinch Lift
3. Wrist Developer
4. Half a Penny (one hand) - GripTopz
5. Rim (one hand) - GripTopz
Leg 2 Events:
1. One Hand Vulcan Gripper - 30mm block close
2. One Hand Pinch Lift
3. Wrist Developer
4. Shallow Hub (one hand) - GripTopz
5. Stub (one hand) - GripTopz
If you haven't been to David's site yet I'd highly recommend some of the grip products he sells - especially the Vulcan Gripper and Wrist Developer (to be used in the comps)
Also, David is launching a new range of grip products for Strongest Hands 2011 - GripTopz to include hubs, pennies, rim and small diameter vertical bar check out the video link
I did have quite an ambitious set of training goals for 2010, most of which were never met for various reasons. I plan 2011 to be my strongest yet. I will put up some of my goals shortly
