Training versus Workouts
Do you workout with your kettlebells or do you train with them?
What's the difference? Well....
It suddenly hit me the other day that there is a distinct difference between working out and training. 'Training' involves following a set program that follows a structure geared towards your goal and working out/workouts literally mean you turn up and train for however long you feel like training for just to say that you've shown up and done something.
Which is better?
Neither is significantly better as it should be you who decides what your goals will be with your kettlebell training or kettlebell workouts. I personally do kettlebell workouts at the moment despite heading towards a Tactical Strength Competition, the reason being is I train at other sports and use kettlebell workouts to increase GPP and challenge myself with unusal style lifts or heavy kettlebell lifts. I tend to follow a more specific training routine for other areas.
So, what do you?
If you're heading towards a kettlebell competition then you should be training and not working out. Check out this article 'How to training for a kettlebell competition'
for some ideas for kettlebell training.
