60kg Kettlebell Flip and Press
As promised many moons ago when I received my 60kg 'Titan' kettlebell from LondonKettlebells. I finally got around to videoing a part of my session with the 'monster'
Did 5 flips followed by 5 presses on my right side.
The big problem with the heavy 60kg kettlebel is the handle (and of course the weight) as it's 50mm in diameter so you really need to get a great warm up before tackling it.(Could do with getting hold of a heavy kettlebell like Valantin Dikul uses with the thinner style competition handle)
Felt really good after 40 odd snatches with the 48kg 'Beast' kettlebell.
I'm no Valantin Dikul or Valery Federenko, but I really enjoy the 60 kilo bell but need to be careful with it as it certainly takes it toll on you. I'm limiting myself to working only twice a week with it.
If you're thinking of going heavy on the kettlebells, makesure you take you're time to work into it.
When moving upto a new weight with kb's I usually get plenty of farmers walks in to work on my grip, then move onto kettlebell clean into a swing then snatch and then I'm allowed to play as I wish. I feel this gives myself time to adapt if I do it over a series of sessions and helps avoid any stupid injuries.
